Confused about Barnstable?
Well, with good reason, because Barnstable refers to three different geographic areas. Barnstable County covers all of Cape Cod. The Town of Barnstable, in the middle of the Cape, is the largest of the Cape's 15 towns in population and area. The Town includes seven villages: Barnstable, West Barnstable, Cotuit, Osterville, Marstons Mills, Centerville, and Hyannis (the largest population and shopping center on the Cape). Our house is located between the villages of Barnstable and West Barnstable just off Route 6A, also known as Old King's Highway.
